“Being awarded the Gothenburg Company Prize is a truly wonderful accolade, and we hope that our company will help put Gothenburg on the world map within this exciting and groundbreaking technology. Having our headquarters here in Gothenburg has been incredibly beneficial for us as it is a competence- and technology-heavy city, particularly within the automotive sector,” says Stefanie Najafi, founder of Sightic Analytics.

Sightic Analytics was founded in 2019 by Stefanie Najafi and Jenny Johansson, who had both worked in the Swedish police and security forces for many years. During their tenure, they identified the need for a digital tool to detect drug intoxication. Today, the company is a pioneer in its segment and boasts a specialized team of 20 employees.

“By identifying a need, leveraging new technology, and collaborating closely with others, the company has developed an innovative safety solution. The company’s two entrepreneurs, with previous backgrounds in the police force, have changed paths and used their knowledge to contribute to a to a safer world,” says Kristin Mari Riera, Chair of the Gothenburg Company Prize jury and project manager at The Trade and Industry Group, Gothenburg & Co.

AI-driven solutions for smarter safety and a safer world

Sightic Analytics is working on developing two different products: an intoxication solution for the automotive industry and a mobile phone-based solution that identifies the influence of alcohol or drugs through image analysis of the eye area.

“The products aim to prevent accidents both in traffic and in the workplace. The solution for the automotive industry will function as a ‘continuous monitoring’ solution, meaning it will operate ongoingly during the journey via the car’s DMS system. Our mobile solution detects both alcohol and soon also drugs. With it, users can conduct a 15-second test on an iPhone to screen for any impairment before entering their workplace,” say Stefanie Najafi and Jenny Johansson, founders of Sightic Analytics.
