Sweden’s best startups and entrepreneurs met in Gothenburg 

On October 10th, the 14 finalists of Venture Cup, Sweden’s biggest entrepreneurial competition, gathered for the awards ceremony at Uni3 by Geely. Before the ceremony, the Trade and Industry Group at Göteborg & Co, in collaboration with SKF and SEB, organized a tour where the participants got to learn more about Gothenburg and its businesses.

In collaboration with SKF and SEB, the Trade and Industry Group at Göteborg & Co organized a day full of acitivites with a “Gothenburg touch”. The finalists from all the regions in Sweden gathered for a tour where the participants got to learn more about Gothenburg, visit SKF and participate in lectures and workshops with SEB.

During the evening, the company WindowGlass Recycling won the main award Startup of the Year, but also Best Traction and the Audience Award.

The Gothenbrug-based company Mabel AI, which enables people born abroad to communicate in their own language with emergency and nursing staff thanks to AI, won Impact Maker. “This award is for all the people who had to leave their country. We want to help them and everyone else to get a better medical care, everywhere.” says the co-founder Shahid Jabbar.

The other winners were the startups Geografisk Intelligens (Beyond Academic 2023), Tomorrow Machine (Game Changer) and Heart Balance (B3 Indes Award).
