”Gothenburg has an amazing archipelago and an ÖTILLÖ swimrun race is a great way of showing the world our stunning nature.” says Magnus Hallberg, Director of Events Göteborg & Co.

The Southern Archipelago of Styrsö, Vrångö, Donsö, Brännö and Köpstadsö is a mere 15 minutes from the mainland and part of the City of Gothenburg. It has a history since the stone age and a geography that is spectacular. Beautiful granite islands, small, year-round hamlets and a vibrant summer community.

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Gothenburg on Saturday, August 7th will be a big day with three race distances catering for the whole spectra of swimrunners; from beginners to the absolute best in the world. The Experience is 7,5 km, the Sprint is 19 km and the World Series is 35 km. In the World Series the top two teams in each category (men, women & mixed) that do not already have a spot qualify to the 15th ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship in the Stockholm Archipelago on September 6th. This race day will be a yearly event.

”We are extremely happy and proud to be able to showcase one of the most beautiful parts of the city of Gothenburg. The islands in this Southern archipelago is nothing but spectacular and we cannot wait to show it off.” says Mats Skott, Race Director ÖTILLÖ Swimrun.

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun has taken over a race that was very popular during 2012 – 2019 called Öloppet and will work with some of the former race directors to continue their tradition and to work on bringing it to the next level.
