Talent Attraction pilot study

In 2025, the Trade and Industry Group supported a pilot study at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, linked to talent attraction. The aim of this pilot study is to propose measures, based on current research and experience, that will help to establish Gothenburg as one of Europe’s most attractive locations for the workforce of the future.

The background to the study is that cities, regions and countries are currently working to attract workers and talent and to build skills. This work is driven by growing skills shortages caused by an ageing population, mismatches between education systems and labour market needs, and a labour market offering more complex jobs. The results of the pilot study was published in early 2026.
