UN Sustainable Lifestyle hub in Gothenburg

In September 2025, Gothenburg became a UN hub for sustainability. The announcement was made during UN General Assembly in New York and means that Gothenburg will serve as a meeting place and an international platform where global and local stakeholders, can learn from one another and jointly develop projects in tourism, events, meetings and lifestyle.

The work with sustainability hubs is part of a strategy to achieve the global goals by 2030. The UN aims to highlight places that are working on local solutions to global challenges. The first activity is planned for spring 2026, and the establishment is a two-year commitment.
