Skarpt Läge’s job and skills fair continues to be popular

In the beginning of March the Skarpt Läge job and skills fair took place for the eleventh year in a row, where young adults get the opportunity to meet employers who are looking for staff. This year’s news was that the fair was held at Lindholmen Science Park.

On Friday March 7th Skarpt Läge’s large job and skill fair for 16-30 year olds took place. The 4 hour long fair generated over 1 000 visitors and was held at Lindholmen Science Park, a new location for the fair which was 2024 held at the Göteborg Opera. The median visitor age was 23 years, which was lower than previous years, and around 60 percent of the visitors were women.

The job and skill fair had almost 30 participating employees from different bransches within the region who were ready to talk work opportunities with the visitors. The 29 exhibitors, among them SOS Alarm, WeQube and Scandic, jointly offered over 1600 jobs, and over 90 interviews had taken place at the end of March.

Skarpt Läge has since 2014 worked with connecting young adults with employers. Thousands of people have gotten job thanks to their job and skill fair, which was founded by Fredrik Karlsson and Lotta Susanne Forsberg.

The Trade and Industry Group has been involved since the start of Skarpt Läge, in both the job and skills fair and the digital platform Jobbpoolen, which enables direct contact between job seekers and the business community. The group has also contributed to the CV cabin, which assists young adults in refining their resumes before meeting with employers, and Pepp and Prepp, smaller job fairs whose purpose is to equip and support individuals from socially disadvantaged areas for the job market.
