About Trade and Industry Group

The Trade and Industry Group dates back a long way, and the group was formed by a number of companies that saw the value and the power of working together to develop the city in which they operate. The group works with a long-term perspective in order to achieve sustainable structural change. The value is clear – an attractive city that attracts people and businesses creates growth for its own businesses.
Working in broad collaboration, the Trade and Industry Group invests in long-term skills supply and inclusion to contribute towards an attractive, vibrant and sustainable metropolitan region. These initiatives are always implemented in partnership with others and with the help of various tools – knowledge, trade and industry, events and culture. The work is carried out within three strategic areas: Develop collaboration formats, Initiate and facilitate new projects, and Increase visibility and knowledge of Gothenburg.
A common thread in all these initiatives is the focus on skills supply, inclusion and building the Gothenburg brand. In 2025, the group’s work placed particular emphasis on “preventive security measures” and “innovative Gothenburg”. All actions and initiatives are targeted, evaluated and quality assured to ensure that the strategy is clear and that the initiatives are completed. The Trade and Industry Group is based at Göteborg & Co, making it is possible to link diff erent initiatives, knowledge and contacts to create added value. At Göteborg & Co, four people are employed to run and develop the group’s initiatives. The members’ contributions consist of liquid assets as well as commitment and contacts, not least within their own operations.
Strength through cooperation
A key value in the Trade and Industry Group’s work is the interaction between private industry, the public sector and academia. This provides strength through the exchange and development of knowledge from the majority of sectors. The Trade and Industry Group also provides a valuable network. The group meets every other month to discuss initiatives and to learn about new places in the city and meet interesting people who both develop the group’s work and bring added value to the members’ professional roles.
