Event & Climate
A digital tool designed to reduce climate emissions linked to events and create favourable conditions for achieving the City of Gothenburg’s environmental objectives.
Background
Event & Climate is a digital tool that helps organisers measure, act on and communicate their climate work. The tool was originally developed as part of the Vinnova-funded project Solutions for Climate-Smart Events.
Purpose and development
In the short term, the project aims to increase knowledge about climate emissions and reduce climate-impacting activities linked to events.
In the longer term, the goal is for the tool to help reduce emissions from events by 10–30 per cent. The project includes further development and updates of the tool, testing at different events, dissemination across the industry, and the development of a long-term sustainable business model.
Who can use Event & Climate?
Anyone organising events, large or small, can use Event & Climate to manage their climate work. The aim is for the tool to be easy to use, even for those without previous knowledge of climate-related issues. The tool is currently completely free to use and will continue to be free for all smaller organisations.

The tool includes four main functions:

- Product procurement
- Waste

The project is co-funded by Vinnova and the Västra Götaland Region.
