Pentathlon and new connections at Liseberg with Unimeet Gothenburg
A pentathlon challenge, new connections and the opportunity to discover the Nordic region’s largest amusement park were on the agenda on 18 September, when Unimeet Gothenburg welcomed international students, researchers and staff from Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg to Liseberg. The event is one of many organised by Unimeet Gothenburg to showcase the city’s rich nature and cultural offerings.

On 18 September, around 80 participants gathered at Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel for a joint event organised by Unimeet Gothenburg and Liseberg. The event began with an introduction to Liseberg, where participants gained insight into the amusement park’s history and mission, as well as an overview of its wide range of experiences. They learnt more about everything from rides, games and food experiences to concerts, events and Liseberg’s popular Halloween and Christmas seasons.
Following the introduction, it was time to experience the park. Participants were divided into teams to take on Liseberg’s pentathlon challenge, combining friendly competition with plenty of laughter and opportunities to meet new people.
In addition to the team challenge, participants had time to explore the amusement park´s attractions and surroundings at their own pace.

The visit is one of many activities organised by Unimeet Gothenburg to showcase Gothenburg and the opportunities the destination has to offer. The aim is to help international students, researchers and university staff feel welcome and support them in exploring the city. Unimeet Gothenburg also offers career-related activities to showcase the city as an attractive workplace. The long-term ambition is for more international students and researchers to choose to remain in the region after completing their studies or research appointments.
Unimeet Gothenburg is a collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, and The Trade & Industry Group at Göteborg & Co, aimed at strengthening the exchange between the universities’ international students and researchers and the business community, creating cultural and social meeting places, as well as networking opportunities.
