On 20th September, around seventy international students, researchers, and staff from Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg gathered at Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel, where they were welcomed by representatives from Liseberg and Unimeet Gothenburg. The participants were given an introduction to the park’s history and mission, along with an overview of everything that the park has to offer – from food and drink, games and rides, to events, concerts, and the park’s special Halloween and Christmas seasons.
The group was then divided into teams to compete in Liseberg’s pentathlon, featuring a range of fun, innovative, and challenging games. In addition to the pentathlon, participants had the chance to explore the park’s fantastic environments and attractions on their own. The entrance to Liseberg and the Pentathlon game were a gift from Liseberg and Unimeet Gothenburg.
Liseberg is the largest amusement park in the Nordic region and was named the winner of the “Best of the Best” category at the 2023 Park World Excellence Awards.
The activity is one of many organized by Unimeet Gothenburg to showcase Gothenburg and all that the destination has to offer. The intention is to help international students, researchers, and university staff, explore of the city and, ideally, fostering a desire to remain in Gothenburg after finishing their studies.
